[Much apology for the layout of this blog. I'm confounded as to how to fix the pictures!]
I’m still paying for my celebration meal, where I celebrated hitting the -40 mark. It’s 3 days later and the overage is still very much present, despite lots of exercise, water and strict adherence to the regimen, including a double day of Attack. I’m reading an article called 1 Step Back, 2 Steps Forward by Mike Kramer of SparkPeople that is a great help during this phase.
One of his recommendations is to reflect on your success. Hence this post: Look what -40 lbs does to your face! My friends on Facebook are amazed and my dear friend from college asked if I’d had something done cosmetically. Nah, it’s weight loss.
Remember that for every 1 lb you lose, you’re taking 4 lbs off your knees! Imagine what the impact is therefore on your back, your neck, your feet? Apparently I don’t snore anymore. LOL Man, how I still miss wine and chocolate though! Back to Mike Kramer’s wonderful article: -
“In tennis, losing one point isn’t the end of the world. It happens to the best of them. In fact, if you can consistently win a few more points that you lose, you may end up in the hall of fame. With healthy eating and exercising, as long as you’re consistently out-stepping your steps back, you’re ahead of the game. If you expect perfection (and many of us do), you’re setting yourself up for disappointment and guilt.”
“Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.”
So my face is doing ok…now back to worrying about my still-large stomach and now flabby upper arms!!
